NEWS CENTER Sports to LIVE VIDEO stream high school football

(NEWS CENTER) - We are pleased to announce NEWS CENTER Fifth Quarter will once again LIVE VIDEO stream high school football starting this Friday night at 7P. After a couple of years off, we are back and better than ever with full 720p HD video streaming.

We have worked hard as a staff to ensure we can deliver the fans of high school football in Maine a high quality experience from start to finish.

The broadcasting crew will consist of Jeff Mannix and Jeff Schools to start, with some suprises mixed in along the way. On the play by play we will have Portland Pirates voice and son of NEWS CENTER's own Kevin Mannix, Jeff Mannix. Jeff brings his years of experience calling sports in Maine from the Black Bears to the Lewiston MAINEiacs to most recently the Portland Pirates. Jeff has had the opportunity to call high school football in the time he spent in Washington State.

(NEWS CENTER) - Each week the NEWS CENTER staff submits 5 of the best plays of the week we see to to you to see which play YOU think is the best of the week. We also submit those plays to our national USA TODAY High School Sports desk.

This week, USATHSS staff chose Traip Academy's Nate Henderson's rumbling 53 yard TD run as one of the Top 5 finalists nationally.

(NEWS CENTER) - Well, Week 2 of the high school football season got started on a soggy note but finished strong under the lights Saturday.

All the Fifth Quarter tape has been looked at, studied and the NEWS CENTER staff has come up with what we think is the 5 best plays we saw over the weekend.

BikeMaine riders reflect on 400mi journey

ORONO, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - It's been a week of riding... And sightseeing through the state, but now...Bike Maine is finished. 

NEWS CENTER's Tim Goff, who's been taking part in this challenge... along with 249 other riders, has seen many sights and sounds across the State of Maine. Tim and the other riders got to enjoy some of the most beautiful parts of this state like few get to do, on a bicycle.

Tim wraps up his trek and shows us the path he and the other riders travelled over the last week.

Maine's Mulligan gets his day with Pats

(NEWS CENTER) - While the Patriots/Jets game Thursday night wasn't quite the exciting time NFL fans were looking for. Maine fans got a chance to see one of their own suit up in #88.

Enfield's own Matt Mulligan got a chance to suit up with the Flyin' Elvis on the helmet and NEWS CENTER's Lee Goldberg got a chance to talk to him after the game.
