While billboards in New York and Milan flashed images of the year to come in haut couture, Quarry Hill residents took a look back, celebrating Fashion Through the Ages on September 14 with a retrospective complete with makeshift runway with residents and staff as models. Paraded decade by decade were the styles the “in” crowd wore - from the conservative shirtwaists of the early 1900s; to the yo-yo-ing hemlines of the ‘20s; to the Hollywood-inspired gowns of the ‘30s; to the comfortable, casual styles of today. Volunteers Sue Hopkins, Sue Iltis, and Phil Cucinotta provided narration, piano accompaniment, and photography, respectively.   Ouarry Hill on facebook:
