WARREN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The Knox County Sheriff's Office says two people were injured in a crash Friday morning on U.S. Route 1.

The accident happened at 10:50.

Deputies say Edward Wason, 47, of Union, was almost stopped in the northbound lane to make a turn into a driveway. His Toyota truck was stuck by a Dodge Caravan driven by Elizabeth Priebe, 81, of Warren. The crash put the Toyota on its side.

Deputies say evidence showed no brake marks at the scene where the collision happened. U.S. Route 1 was shut down for 45 minutes before the road was cleared.

Wason and Priebe were taken to Penobscot Bay Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
